The Friends of Curtis Cancer Fund invites you to experience a magical playa-inspired night of music, creative participation, and communal revelry in support of the amazing Curtis Coleman. The developer of Songs of Safety, an award-winning school assembly program, Curtis travels the country using music to teach kids to trust their own voices. Uninsured and receiving treatment for his recently-diagnosed throat cancer, Curtis has inspired this fundraiser, just as he has inspired so many individuals to invest in their musical ability and creativity. The event highlights include two rooms of non-stop breaks and chill-out beats powered by DJs Samira, Ooah, DF Tram, Donna Matrix, and Ripple among others, as well as a silent auction and raffle that features one-of-a-kind artwork and gifts. Friends of Curtis stresses the 'fun' in 'fundraiser' and invites your involvement, whether in the form of donated time or auction items or by adding some color to the party with an art installation or performance piece. Date: Sat 3/5, Time: 8pm-4am, Place:SomArts (934 Brannan St.), Cover: $17 presale, $20 door, More Info (DKD)
