San
Francisco's ultra-indulgent extravaganza of flesh,
fantasy, music, and sex sex sex is celebrating a
quarter century of delicious debauchery. In a town
known for its wild side, the Exotic Erotic Ball
has been SF's annual effort to shock its own jaded
eyes with a party to end all parties. Part mardi-gras,
part masquerade, part burlesque, there really is
no way to put into words what you'll see there.
With a guest list that includes adult stars Ron
Jeremy, Christy Canyon, and Tera Patrick, sex educators
Carol Queen and Dr. Sharon Mitchell, and literally
thousands of the sexiest, most outrageously attired
people you will ever meet, it's a libidinous nirvana
you simply have to see to believe. But what's a
party without beats? That department will be in
very good hands, indeed, with Richard
"Humpty" Vision, Seattle's Donald
Glaude, Nitevibe Dreamteamer Dmitris
Mykonos, St. John, Ron
Reeser, rockers Everclear
and Glamnation being just a small sample of the
massive musical lineup. After 25 years, you really
haven't experienced San Francisco until you've seen
the Exotic Erotic. Date: Sat. 10/23,
Place: Cow Palace (Geneva &
Santos), Cover: $69.95. More

SF Weekly 15th Music Awards Party
It’s
been 15 years, but still seems like only yesterday
that the SF Weekly Music Awards, formerly “The Wammies”,
created a buzz around the Bay Area music scene.
This loud and clear buzz was a salute to local talent,
giving expansive exposure and well deserved recognition.
The winners of the awards are determined by SF Weekly’s
readers as they vote for their favorite musicians
in a variety of genres. The other cool thing about
this event is that a donation from the proceeds
will be given to the music program at San Francisco
High School For The Arts. The idea of praising Bay
Area talent while nurturing the next generation
of musicians is a reason not to miss this event.
Date: October 21, 2004, Time:
8pm, Place: Ruby Skye, Cover:
$20 or $100 VIP; More

KRS
One
There is only one KRS
One, and he will make an appearance in a small
venue on Polk Street called the Red
Devil Lounge. A legendary hip-hop MC, "The
Blastmaster" is renowned for his politically-minded
words, powerful ideas, and intense performances. In
2002 he came out with two releases, Spiritually
Minded and The Mix Tape. One
song titled Ova Here spoke directly to
Nellie in response to his rival's competitive challenges.
You will definitely notice KRS One's attitude in
his latest release, titled Kristyles, that
will inevitably spill onto the stage. Also
known as "The Teacher", KRS will no doubt spit
knowledge right off the top of his head in an epic
freestyle. This show will not only entertain but
educate his audience with words from 1987 up to
2004. Date: Thurs. 10/21,
Time: 8pm, Cover: $18

I haven’t had a trip like that since doing ‘shrooms in Vegas.
