Afrobeat In The Gardens

Nitevibe Buzz

The Yoruba Buena Center for the Arts summer events series Yerba Buena Garden Festival has teamed up with The Museum of African Diaspora to bring together an eclectic mix of Afro-influenced beats and grooves in honor of the late, great Nigerian star - Fela Anikulapo Kuti (who is the subject of an art show in the gallery). The free performances feature three of today's hottest acts including the local jazz flavors of the Broun Fellinis, the heavy Afro-beat energy of New York's 14 piece collective Antibalas and headlining this historic event is none other than the East Bay's own hip-hop revolutionaries in Blackalicious. The garden will no doubt be jumping with great beats and sweet culture, so what are you wanting for? Grab your friends and head to the Yerba Buena gardens for this free, fun-filled event in honor of a legendary artist in celebration of African music!
