Every
spring a sleepy So Cal valley turns into a musical
feast of enormous proportions. A poor man’s
Woodstock, Coachella Music Festival gathers a roster
of superstars that fill up stadiums for a non-stop
two day party. Here’s a glimpse of just some
of the performers – Radiohead, Pixies, Kraftwerk,
the Cure, Flaming Lips, Basement Jaxx, Paul Van

Weird Street Faire
The 5th Annual How Weird Street Faire is on for
this Saturday, and what could be more enjoyable
than a day out with those of your own kind? The
odd, the uncanny, and even the most mysteriously
fantastic of personalities gather together this
May Day to experience the ear-tickle created by
a band of more than 20 djs on four stages, including
Adam
Ohana, the Space
Cowboys, Dr. Spook (Phoenix Family), Laird,
Tung, Dyloot (Skillz), Tom Silk (Skills), and Lorin.
You'll be hearing it all from house and breaks to
psytrance, and maybe even happy hardcore, and will
also enjoy live band performances, theatrical acts,
a healthy beer garden, arts and crafts, and the
blessed reminder that weird is good, and though
some may stare, its really alright to wear Christmas
socks (and little else) the whole year round if

The Scion Emerging Artists Tour hits Loft 11 this
Friday featuring NYC breaks DJ, Miss Bliss along
with SF's own Solomon and Raoul Khan. Miss Bliss
has held residencies in New York and Atlanta and
is requested at events the world over. Her latest
track "Electrofunk" had a favorable review in URB
and I just know we'll be seeing more of this young
lady in the coming year. One of your hosts of the
evening will be Thomas Ian Nicholas co-star of American
Pie, Stealing Sinatra and LA DJ. Plus if all that's
not fancy enough for you, there's presents too.

Johnson Exhibit Opening
Future Primitive Sound, the local hip-hop collective
known for events fusing art and music, brings you
the work of Ian Johnson who gained notoriety for
his portraits of jazz musicians. Unmatched in capturing
the essence of hard-bop on canvas, he has worked
with prominent group shows and installations like
Doze Green, ST1:CITY and Future. A hard working
artist he recently received a layout in a prestigious
UK magazine ‘Straight No Chaser’ and is currently
contributing to esteemed hip-hop journal ‘Wax Poetics
Magazine.’ His contributions to the local culture
scene include an in-house artist position for Western
Addition skateboarding and forming ‘Live’ another
skateboarding company. His exposition is a must
for any art or jazz aficionado, after all that’s
what brought us most of the musical genres that
