New Year's Day
2004
The Survival-Revival Guide
When it's 6 a.m., the club is closing
down, you're wide awake, and your party partner
pipes up, "What now?", you can flash a smile
because you totally know the answer. We've
all had fun wandering the streets, but why not preen
those planning tactics and make it happen for your
crew on New Year's Day? Friends stuck working
on NYE will be begging for some excitement, so declare
their pad "home base", stock their fridge with holiday
ales, champagne, and fresh juices, and set up the
decks for some cool, intimate decompression
therapy. Other options in the early a.m. include
hitting up Breakfast
of Champions at Whisper, if your brains are still
bangin', or head to the Top for RIOT a rare morning
treat in lower Haight. If you've snuck in a quick
cat-nap, do yourself a favor and float over to 2202 Oxygen bar to
clear your mind and arouse the senses with
the magic of oxygen, herbal elixirs, and aromatherapy. Once
refreshed, it's time for STOMPY
at Cocomo. Still going? Kit Kat
at the Endup is going all night! So, San Francisco,
whether you stay out all day or sit around somewhere
comfy, make the most of it, because it's a brand
new year and you never know what surprises are around
the corner. (DK)
Dancestar Wants YOU!
First the Governor, then Nitevibe,
then the Mayor...will this voting thing ever end?
No! and who would want it to? The Dancestar Awards
are the only major electronic music awards in the
USA and last year it was broadcasted in 54 countries!
The event will take place for the second year at
Ocean Drive on the sands of Miami’s South Beach
on Tuesday March 9th, 2004. What separates Dancestar
from other awards is that you and I decide the winners.
It is our vote which will decide titles like "Album
of the Year", "DJ of the Year", "Best Use of Electronic
Music in a Commercial" and much more. The 2004 nominations
are to be announced on January 16 and ongoing news
will be published via www.dancestar.com as well
as right here on Nitevibe. You can expect that info
and more leading up to that big party conference
called Miami WMC. (JP)
